Making wire frames

In this assignment wire frames had to be drawn up then have ( in order of appearance on page ) a club newsletter, business card, and a webpage, these are my interpretations of this assignment.

In this assignment the images had to be changed to 72dpi ( all ) and 900px width for the first two and 400px width for the last image.

Poster design using type

I chose this quote out of 6 possible ones to use.

I arrived at this design after playing around with different ideas, to me it gave sort of a horror film type of feel which i really liked, the text plays a really big role and the size of the text also plays a really big part of the image,

Blue lines representing the grids in this image.

Unfortunately I was unable to find another page layout that did not adhere to a grid in any of my magazines, but this image shows how even thought the use of a grid hasn't been used, it is still effective.

This image uses a grid for the text but for the text position and photos do not adhere to a grid layout.

These 2 images are showing that even if you only have to look as far as the coffee table you can find multiple things that use grids to make viewing easy.

This magazine cover is one of three images used in learning activity 2, this task was to outline the principles and elements of the image and label them accordingly.

This task was about identifying focus and hierarchy, using the numbers from 1-6 (one being the main focus) to show how I view this DVD cover.

It was a toss up between 1&2 and also 3&4 but I went with what I originally chose.

Logo Design using Adobe Illustrator

The logo to the left was for the "Taste of the World Festival" which will be held in 2011 in Tasmania.

The client approached the class and gave guidelines to what needed to be created and gave us a certain amount of time to complete it.

The design had to be ready for use with either print or web based use, so a basic logo needed to be created.

The Glenorchy School for Seniors also approached the class with a design brief for a logo, this was the logo I submitted to the clients and it is currently in use as their logo.

This task required us to take a standard image and turn it into popart. This required the use of the program Photoshop and the use of a graphics tablet. This image is oof a New York street scape which I have altered serverly.

The image to the left has been drawn by Le Louche from Deviant Art, I have coloured this and also added dots to it to make it a popart image.

3D Design work using 3D Studio Max

These images below were designed in 3D Studio Max using tutorials which involved modelling, using a daylight system, and also Mental Ray rendering.

The day and night time scenes were by far the most exciting as they came together slowly but in the end they came together and you could really see where your time on the project went.

The tutorial used to create this chair to the left was the first one we did. The main problem with designing this was using real world sizes so that the lighting was not completely out.

The image to the left was more of a lighting tutorial but still involved some modelling, texturing, and the finishing touches were done in Photoshop CS4, including the outside image.
